Langos with onion herring

4 servings

Delicious crispy langos with onion herring, perfect as finger food! You can use a deep fryer but it is also fine to fry the langos in a saucepan. 25 g yeast 3 dl water 2 boiled potatoes About 7 dl wheat flour About 1 tsp salt Frying oil Topping: 1 can of onion herring 3 dl sour cream 2 chopped red onions Dill sprigs for garnish Stir the yeast into the water. Mash the potatoes with a fork and stir into the water. Add flour and salt and mix to a smooth, slightly loose dough. Prove under a baking cloth for about 45 minutes. Place the dough on a floured surface and knead for a minute or so. Form about 12-14 loaves and roll out oblong loaves. Cover the loaves with a baking cloth and pro- ve for 15 minutes. Heat the frying oil in a deep fryer or in a saucepan. Place the bread slices with a ladle and fry for about 5 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Let cool on paper towels. Serve with sliced herring, chopped red onion, sour cream and a sprig of dill.
